February 1-29- “Regional Photography Show”- Photographers from a multi-state area compete for over
$800 worth of awards. Artist reception is Friday, Feb. 3 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. A one-day photography
workshop will be held at a date to be announced. Sky Winds Room- HAL 64-Area middle school students
present their popular annual photography show and join in the Friday night reception.
March 1-31- “Spirit of the Cranes”- Renowned nature and wildlife photographer Rick Rasmussen and the
artists of Prairie Winds celebrate the return of spring and the cranes to the Platte River Valley. Artist
reception is Friday, March 2 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Sky Winds Room- The talented artists at Grand
Island Senior High will exhibit their works and join in the Friday night reception.
April 1 – 30- “ All Creatures Great and Small”- In a variety of media, Prairie Winds artists express their love
for furry and feathered creatures in this amusing presentation. The show will be a fundraiser for the
Central Nebraska Humane Society. Call Prairie Winds if you would like a painting of your pet in the show.
Artist reception is Friday, April 6 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
May 1- May 31- “Annual International Miniature Show” is a competition open to artists across the
continent. This multimedia show awards more than $800 in prizes. Celebrated artist, Donna Binfield will
judge the show and present a one day workshop on Saturday, May 5. Artist reception is Friday, May 4
from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
June 1-30- “The Colors of America”- Prairie Winds proudly introduces Julia Noyes, expressionistic artist and
Karen Neppl, painter and mosaic artist, with their interpretations of the colors seen across this great
nation. Artist reception is Friday, June 1 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Children’s Art Camp at a date to be announced
July 1- 31- “The Evolution of an Artist”- Nationally acclaimed painter, Darren Maurer, returns to his
hometown for a show with his first art teacher, Dee Rodgers. Come and see where his artistic
journey has taken him. Artist reception is Friday, July 5 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The young artists from Prairie
Winds Art Camp will display their works in the Sky Winds Room through the month and join in the
Friday celebration.
August 1- 31- “Reflections” is an exciting, colorful show in a variety of media reflecting the joyful and fun
loving spirits of artists, Libby Henry and Donna Ryan. Artist reception is Friday, August 3 from 5:30 to 8
p.m.
September 1- 30-“ Inside Out”- Painters Patricia Coslor and Charlie Mitchell, textile artist Linda McCurry,
and jewelry designer Jennifer Mitchell present an outward artistic expression of their inner creative spirits
in this unique show. Artist reception is Friday, September 7 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
October 1- 31- “Three Men and an Art”- Prairie Winds is proud to present the latest creative works of
Grand Island artists, photographer Keith Espeland, wood turner Harry Adams, and painter Ken Bassett.
You do not want to miss it! Artist reception is Friday, October 5 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.
November 1- December 31- “Celebrate” is a fantasy of art and gifts to put you in a holiday spirit and fill
your wish list. Holiday Open Houses are Friday, November 2 and Friday, December 7 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
