About the Artist
Patsy Smith has won numerous awards in national competitive exhibits acoss the country, including "Best of Show" in the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Competition. She holds signature memberships in National Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Oklahoma, Kentucky Watercolor Society and Kansas Watercolor Society. Her work has been featured in many national magazines and art books. Her paintings and articles about her have been included in the "American Artists" and "The Artists" magazines. Most recently she won an award in abstract art, one of thirty artists, in "The Artists" magazine's competition for "The Year's Best Art" in 2008, out of 11,000 entries. Her artwork has been included in the "Best of Watercolor" books by Rockport Press and "Watercolor Techniques for Releasing the Creative Spirit" and "Splash 7" publisher Watson Guptill books.
Patsy's paintings are widely collected throughout the nation and hang in many homes, office, and corporation settings. She has also painted many murals in businesses and corporation buildings. Patsy has lectured at many seminars and taught workshops around the country for students from children to adults. She resides and creates in her Blue Heron Studio at Jeffrey Lake, Brady, Nebraska and paints and teaches in her studio at 516 North Dewey in downtown North Platte, Nebraska.

Do you want award winning paintings while having a delightful time? This acrylic/water media workshop is designed as a thorough study of color theory and composition along with ideas of the creative use of materials to enhance the joy of exploration.
Inventive demos will educate and inspire. Color and composition handouts will be available. Personal critiques will be available at the end of this workshop.
All you need are your materials and a childlike nature to explore the joy of painting.
