High School and Adult Art Classes
Plein Aire Class and Workshop

Instructor: Ken Bassett

Dates: June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, 2010

Level: Beginner, intermediate, professional; kids and young people welcome

Instruction: will consist of short lecture, demonstration, and participants starting or getting a painting done on site.

Principles covered will include arrangement, composition, color, media handling, and painting tips.

Media: Oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, or Prisma colored pencil. Instructions given for all media.

Locations: June 17: L.E. Ray Park, Grand Island. Landscape, water, and trees.

June 24: Stolley Park, Grand Island. Landscape, trees, and floral.

July 1: Jan Wiemer's back yard, Grand island. Floral.

July 8: Ray Evans's acreage southwest of Grand Island. Coi pond, greenhouse,
old farm buildings, landscape, and floral.

July 15: Libby and Jack henry residence at Johnson Lake (approx. 85 miles west of Grand Island.)
Landscape and lake.

Details: all classes are Thursday afternoon and/or evening; please bring a brown bag supper. Must furnish your own
ride or arrange carpooling with other students. Supply lists and directions to each site will be sent out to participants.
Instruction will build from one session to the next; please try not to miss any sessions and be on time. Critiques by
instructor and group participation at end of each painting session.

Materials: Sketch book, pencils or colored pencils, camera. Each media will have list of materials needed.

Cost for the 5 week session is $60.
